The SMILE cookie campaign is over for another year. Done and dusted. We Auxiliary members need to give ourselves a hearty pat on our collective back. And of course an extra pat for Janet Wootton and Pat Hicks who made the SMILE campaign happen.
It went like this: first Janet and Pat received the cheque from Glen Keating of Tim Hortons – once again we express our appreciation to Glen and staff for their hard work and generosity.
Then at the General Meeting on October 6th, the ladies presented the cheque to our President Karen Bonokoski.
We wish to thank Glen and Nancy Keating, and their wonderful staff for offering us the proceeds from the sale of Smile cookies from both of their locations again this year. Thanks also to the TD and Scotia banks for supporting our cookie sales.
Cookie dollars plus donation box contributions resulted in a grand total of $8,150 to be put towards the purchase of portable patient monitors for our local North Hastings District Hospital.
Our heartfelt thanks go to the many members who made this project so successful.
Here is the menu for our 29th Anniversary Dinner. It promises to be a great night – one you would not want to miss! Unfortunately space is limited so you will need to reserve your spot as soon as possible. Sign up sheets will be at New To You and the Corner Cafe by Friday. First Come – First Paid gets a spot. Cut off date is October 17th with no exceptions.
Hope to see you there!
Pattie Flynn and Gabby Coe
The organizing group is getting ready for our SMILE event!
Tim Hortons' owner Glen Keating has generously offered to support our Stayin' Alivefundraiser this year with their Smile cookie campaign. It runs from Sept. 15 to Sept. 21, and we need your help to make it a success.
We are looking for members to promote cookie sales at the door of both the Highway 28 and Hastings Street locations. Shifts run from 8-10, 10-12 am and 2-4 pm. There are also pre-order forms you can help by giving out. We will have them available at the Sepember general meeting.
Last year’s campaign was extremely successful and we raised $6,178 to purchase wheelchairs for the hospital. Glen hopes that we can make our goal $8,000 to put toward the purchase of portable patient monitors.
Smile Cookie week is almost upon us and we need your help! From Monday, September 15th to Sunday, September 21st we need you, your enthusiasm and your radia…nt smiles to promote the sale of Smile Cookies at the North (Highway 62) and South (Highway 28) Tim Hortons.
Our shifts will be 8:00 am-10:00 am, 10:00am-12:00 pm, 2:00 pm-4:00 pm. Once again (purple) T-shirts will be available for you to wear and we will have our ‘home made cookie’ and promotional signs for you to use.
Pre-order forms will be available for those of you that would like delicious cookies to take home. Contact Pat Hicks and Janet Wooton for more details.
We’ll be contacting you over the next week or you can reserve your favourite spot by contacting Gabby Coe.
